CatNote Privacy Policy

Welcome to CatNote (the “App”). We value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with the App. Please read it before using the App.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the App and its iOS home-screen widgets. CatNote is a daily-record and annual-calendar app offering local notes, an annual view, and widgets.

2. Information we handle and why

2.1 Notes you create

When you create or edit a note, its title, body, date, and related local display information are stored locally on your device so that the App can display, edit, and manage your diary records and annual view.

We do not upload those notes to servers under our control, and we do not read, sell, rent, use them for advertising, profiling, or marketing. Please do not place highly sensitive information, such as passwords, payment-card numbers, or identity-document numbers, in your notes.

2.2 Local feature status

The App stores necessary feature status locally on your device, such as the permanent-unlock status, interface preferences, and the minimum local data required to display widgets. We do not upload or sell that status.

2.3 Purchase information

If you purchase the “CatNote Permanent Edition,” payment, orders, refunds, and purchase credentials are handled by Apple App Store under Apple’s rules. We do not receive your full payment-card information or Apple Account password. The App may verify purchase status on-device through Apple StoreKit to confirm permanent-edition access.

2.4 Information we currently do not collect

The current version does not offer account registration, cloud sync, advertising, third-party behavioural analytics, or social sharing. We do not actively collect location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health information, or cross-app tracking identifiers. If a future version introduces a feature that changes these practices, we will update this Policy before enabling it and obtain consent where required by applicable law.

3. Storage, retention, and deletion

Notes and related local data remain on your device. They are generally deleted when you delete the relevant note, clear App data, or uninstall the App. The current version does not provide cloud backup controlled by us, so local content may not be recoverable after deletion or when you change devices. Please decide whether and how to back up important content.

You can delete notes through the App. For questions about this Policy or to exercise rights available under applicable law, contact us at the email shown above. Because we generally do not hold your notes, deletion requests may need to be completed on your own device.

4. Sharing and disclosure

Except where required by law, necessary to respond to an emergency involving life, health, or property, or separately authorised by you, we do not provide, sell, rent, or publicly disclose your note content to third parties.

Apple processes purchase-related information as an independent service provider under its own rules. Please also review Apple’s privacy policy and App Store information.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to minimise unnecessary data processing. The App is designed to keep diary content locally on your device; however, no device or network environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please protect your device passcode, Apple Account, and system updates.

6. Children

The App is not intended to actively collect personal information from children under 14. If you are a minor, please review this Policy and use the App with a guardian’s guidance.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when features or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the App, this GitHub Pages site, or another reasonable method. The updated Policy applies from the effective date shown above.

8. Contact us

For questions about this Policy, personal-information handling, or deletion of local data, contact: wow.willlee@gmail.com.
